Catalog Description
This writing intensive course provides a comprehensive overview of bilingual childhood education. It covers cultural, psychological, socioeconomic, linguistic, cognitive and curricular factors affecting the academic achievement of emergent bilingual students. Topics include philosophical, legal and sociological aspects of bilingual education. In this course, students will develop a teaching ePortfolio and must complete 15 hours of classroom observation in a NYC public school.
