Description
This course introduces students to basic physical concepts and applications of thermodynamics, and to their consequences for engineering processes andoperations. Emphasis is placed on the First and Second Laws of Thermodynamics. Topics include properties of pure substances, basic principles governingtransformations of energy, heat and work, behavior of mixtures of gases and vapors, and air conditioning. An introduction to cycles (Carnot, reversibility, power and refrigeration) is also presented.
