Description
This course introduces the history of industrial design. It explores ways in which intentionally produced objects, environments and experiences both shape and reflect their historical moment. The course will investigate how design is expressed in society with emphasis on household objects. Students will examine the importance of social, political and cultural factors and the role they play in how objects are made and why they look the way they do.
