Description

This course introduces students to the literature and vocal techniques necessary for performing on a musical theatre stage. Students train in the vocal techniques of legit, mix, and belt and their application in performing a musical theatre song. Students learn dramatical analysis of a lyric and its application to acting a song. With an emphasis on solo work, each student studies two songs of contrasting style and/or historical periods. The course culminates in a public performance.
