Description
This course will introduce students to ballet, modern jazz and selected ethnic dance through dance history and class performance. Students will utilize the basic techniques of each of these dance forms, including barre exercises, center practice and combinations across the floor. The basic theory of the positions and movements of the body will be explored. Leotards and tights or loose-fitting athletic wear is recommended. Students will be required to attend and pay admission for one live dance performance.
