The painting, sculpture, and architecture of Renaissance Italy will be examined for humanistic content as well as for the visual qualities of composition, style and technique. Works of art will be discussed within the historical context of the Renaissance. Such renowned works as Michelangelo's Sistine Ceiling and Leonardo's Last Supper will be compared to earlier styles.
