Description

This course will examine the development of photography as an art form. Beginning with the introduction of the camera in the 19th Century, the course will focus on early photographic experimentation and its effects on painting. Accordingly, students will then be introduced to the work of great photographers from Nadar to Stieglitz, and to the effects of their work on the development and refinement of the photographic form.
