Students will examine the author in depth, exploring the writer's career, major works, literary influences, and cultural context to understand their contribution to literary history. The author selected might be Dante, Austen, Melville, Lispector, Chekhov, Wilde, Kafka, Can Xue, Morrison, Coetzee, and Achebe.
