Transferring After Graduation 

Students who plan to transfer after completing an associate degree at LaGuardia are encouraged to begin planning early and make use of the College’s transfer resources. LaGuardia provides transfer support through advisors, faculty, counselors, and Transfer Peer Mentors who help students navigate transfer planning, identify transfer options, and prepare for next steps after graduation. Students seeking assistance may schedule an advising appointment through Navigate and may also contact the College at transfer@lagcc.cuny.edu for additional guidance.  

Students interested in transferring to a four-year institution may explore transfer opportunities within CUNY, SUNY, and other colleges and universities. LaGuardia also directs students to resources that support transfer planning, including degree progress tools and CUNY’s course transfer resource (T-REX), which can help students review how courses may transfer within the CUNY system.  

In addition, LaGuardia offers access to transfer-related events, scholarship information, and transfer support programs that may assist students after graduation as they move to a bachelor’s degree program. These opportunities include college transfer fairs, information sessions, and scholarships and programs designed specifically for community college students planning to continue their education at four-year institutions.
