Catalog Description
This course in applied design introduces students to the fundamentals of workshop practices in metals, woods and plastics. Topics include introduction to machining techniques and practices, material properties, joinery concepts, fastening and adhesives, shop safety and etiquette. This is a hands-on projects-based course through which the student is assigned a series of projects to develop core machine shop skills.
