Sustainable Vegetable Production is an experiential practicum in the methods of sustainable agriculture at an urban farm. Students practice food production from seed to stand, including soil preparation and fertility, seed germination, greenhouse production, propagation techniques, stand establishment (seed, transplants), environmental modification (mulches, row covers, high tunnel), pest and disease management, and the production, harvesting, and storage practices for specific vegetables.
