Description
This course is an in-depth study of diatonic and chromatic harmony. This course will reinforce the fundamental concepts covered in Music Theory I as well as taking an overview of species counterpoint. Students will study the harmonic conventions of the 17th and 18th centuries including chorale composition, part writing and the figured bass. Parallel concepts related to harmony will be explored related to contemporary music.
