Description
This course introduces the foundations of applied social welfare policy analysis and intervention. The development of social welfare policy and programs in the United States will be examined within historical context utilizing multiple analytical frameworks(e.g.; ideologies, theories, values, belief systems). The impact of social welfare policy on issues such as poverty, health care, child welfare and changing population demographics will be reviewed for effectiveness.
